Kandra Velez began her career in broadcasting as a fresh-faced college intern at WPBT2 in Miami. In 2007 she was hired as a freelance production assistant for the award winning television series, Wild Florida (seasons 2 & 3). The opportunity to work on Wild Florida combined two of her passions: television and the great outdoors.

As a wildlife enthusiast and television aficionado, Kandra became an Associate Producer in 2008 for WPBT2’s newest original series, Changing Seas.

In addition to her role on various nature shows, Kandra has worked on other programs such as Check, Please! South Florida, Issues, and KidVision.

Kandra Velez has a BA degree in Mass Communications from Florida International University.
