Lyanne Ampuero is a Research Assistant and Associate Researcher with the Punta San Juan Program at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. She has a BSc. from the National University of San Agustín, Arequipa, Peru. She first joined the Punta San Juan Program in 2013 as a volunteer, where she started working on seabird research. She then defended her undergraduate thesis on behavior and breeding success of Inca terns at Punta San Juan. She has been leading efforts to eradicate invasive rodents to protect nesting seabirds. Currently she studies foraging behavior of Peruvian boobies, Inca terns and Guanay cormorants in Punta San Juan.
