HTC Fuiava  Bert Fuiava is a local Samoan currently working for the National Park of American Samoa (NPSA.) He has been with the Park Service for 11 years. HTC Fuiava is the Park Dive Officer, Marine BioTech, Motorboat operator, DAN instructor, and ScubaPro repair tech, to name a few positions. He is one of the first Closed-Circuit Rebreather (CCR) divers at NPSA. Some of his specialties include coral and benthic community identification and conducting fish counts for underwater visual census surveys. As a local Samoan, he holds the Matai High Talking Chief (HTC) title Fuiava. He is a very active member in the Village Council and the Samoan community.
